George Rahi (b 1987,Philadelphia) is an artist basedin Vancouver, unceded CoastSalish territories. He uses selfcreatedand altered instrumentsas a method of exploring theintersections between acousticand digital technologies, modesof listening, and spatial andarchitectural thinking.His work includes installations,instrument making, composition,solo + ensemble performance,and works for radio, theatre &public spaces.Recent presentations haveincluded Artificial Sonificationexhibition (Matera), SPEKTRUM(Berlin), Kunst-Station SanktPeter (Cologne), FuseboxFestival (Austin), Vancouver NewMusic, and RegenerativeFeedback Festival (Rotterdam).

He has been an artist inresidence at Elektronmusikstudion (EMS), Lobe Spatial Sound Studio,and hcma architecture amongothers. He holds an MFA fromSimon Fraser University and is the recipient of the 2018 R. Murray Schafer Soundscapeaward. https://georahi.com
