Tangible Music Club #2: Amélie Nilles, Boris Shershenkov

11. Dezember um 19:0023:00 CET

Amélie Nilles is a French avant-pop composer and spatial audio expert from Paris. With roots in jazz singing and drumming, she explores experimental realms and integrates spatial aesthetics into her music. Trained in electroacoustic composition under Régis Renouard-Larivière, she earned her Master’s at Paris 8 University, focusing on the spatial dimension of sound. Her debut EP, A croqué le fruit étrange (2021, Planisphère), showcases her experimental soundscapes blending voice, field recordings, electronics, and organic rhythms. Since then, she has performed across Europe and created multichannel sound installations with various collaborators.

At the Tangible Music Lab #2, she is presenting OUT OF THE TECHNO-COCOON [E1], a multichannel hybrid live performance.

Boris Shershenkov is a media artist, researcher, educator, and assistant at the Tangible Music Lab. He focuses on projects that explore new methodologies in technological and sound art, combining modern techniques with media archaeology to study the relationship between humans and technology. As a musician, he specializes in live electronics and electroacoustic improvisation, both solo and in collaboration with others.

His performance, MCMVLT (Multi-Carrier Modulated Visible Light Transmissions), is a spatial light-sound piece using a custom-made modular phonoptic interface, optomechanical devices, and live electronics. It blends audible light and visible sound transformations through synthesis and modulation techniques to create a real-time multimodal audiovisual feedback environment.
